ASP.NET Core / Razor Developer & Technical QA Partner — Paid Trial, Long-Term Opportunity I run a small software business building custom operational software for SMEs. My role is primarily focused on: - finding and communicating with clients; - understanding how their businesses currently operate; - identifying operational problems; - designing the solution and defining requirements; - prioritizing features; - managing the client relationship; - reviewing and approving the final product. I am looking for a developer who can take ownership of the technical execution of those solutions. This is initially a small paid trial, but I am genuinely looking for someone I can work with repeatedly over the long term. If we work well together, I would prefer to build a stable relationship with one reliable developer rather than constantly hire different freelancers. Your role You would be responsible for: - understanding existing projects before modifying them; - implementing clearly defined features; - fixing bugs and identifying root causes; - writing clean and maintainable code; - testing your own implementation; - performing technical QA and regression checks; - protecting data integrity; - reviewing affected areas before delivery; - documenting important technical decisions; - using Git correctly; - delivering changes that are ready for final functional testing. I will remain responsible for product decisions, client communication and final acceptance testing. You should not simply implement something and send it without testing it. I want someone who takes responsibility for the technical quality of what they deliver. Current technology Most current projects use: - C# - ASP.NET Core - Razor Pages / MVC - Entity Framework Core - SQLite / PostgreSQL - HTML - CSS - JavaScript - Git / GitHub Experience working with existing business-management applications is especially useful. Examples include: - CRM systems; - inventory/catalogue management; - quotations; - work orders; - customer management; - dashboards; - internal business tools. Working style Projects will normally start with requirements and expected behaviour already defined. I value developers who: - ask good questions when something is genuinely unclear; - understand the existing system before changing it; - preserve working functionality; - make focused changes instead of unnecessary rewrites; - test before delivering; - communicate problems early; - can work independently once the task is clear. AI-assisted development is welcome. I care about the quality of the final result, not whether every line was typed manually. Some existing code may also have been developed with AI assistance, so the ability to review, understand and improve existing code is valuable. Paid trial The first job will be deliberately small. It will likely involve an existing ASP.NET Core/Razor application and include something such as: - one small feature; - one bug fix; - regression checking around the affected area; - basic testing; - a short explanation of what was changed. This is not unpaid testing. The trial will be paid. Initial trial budget: US$75–125 fixed price, depending on experience and proposal. The purpose is to test: - code quality; - reliability; - communication; - speed; - ability to understand an existing codebase; - testing discipline; - ability to work independently. Long-term opportunity If the trial goes well, there can be recurring projects. I am building software solutions for multiple SMEs and expect to need continued development work.
