Nutraceutical Expert for UK/EU Supplement Brand Launch

Project Overview We are launching a premium performance-nutrition and wellness brand in the UK. To ensure a fast, capital-efficient launch, we are leveraging existing high-grade, off-the-shelf white-label / private-label base formulations from certified UK/EU contract manufacturers (CMOs). We are seeking a Nutraceutical Consultant or Food Scientist with direct UK/EU market experience to audit CMO product catalogs, curate a factory shortlist, verify regulatory compliance, and guide flavor sample testing for our initial 3-SKU launch: - Whey Isolate Protein Powder - Hydrolyzed Marine Collagen Powder - Pectin Functional Gummies Scope of Work (Milestone 1) 1. CMO Shortlist Curation: Identify 3 to 4 certified UK/EU contract manufacturers per SKU holding ISO 22000, BRCGS, or GMP accreditations, capable of supporting low-to-medium MOQs (500–1,000 units). 2. Base Formulation Architecture & Audit: Review supplier stock base formulations for ingredient quality, solubility, shelf-life stability, and active dosages. 3. GB NHCR & Regulatory Review: Cross-reference active ingredient dosages against the Great Britain Nutrition and Health Claims Register (GB NHCR), ASA guidelines, and FIC labeling requirements to ensure all marketing claims are fully compliant. 4. Flavor & Organoleptic Brief: Define clear benchmarks for flavor houses/CMOs regarding taste, texture, sweetness, and natural flavor-masking during benchtop sampling. Required Qualifications: - Proven experience working with UK/EU contract manufacturers (CMOs) and white-label supplement supply chains. - Deep practical knowledge of UK food supplement regulations (GB NHCR, ASA, Trading Standards compliance). - Experience assisting nutraceutical or functional food brands through launch in the UK or US.
