Optimize Modular Steel Sawtooth Trusses

Structural Engineer: Steel Truss Optimization We need an experienced structural engineer to optimize an existing modular steel sawtooth roof structure intended to be repeated. The primary objective is to minimize total steel material and fabrication costs while maintaining structural safety. SCOPE AND MILESTONES 1. Structural Optimization Review and optimize the existing truss geometry, spans, supports and steel profiles. Minimize steel weight and structural complexity while prioritizing economical construction. 2. Structural Verification and Refinement Calculate applicable wind, gravity and maintenance loads under Vietnamese structural standards. Verify strength, deflection, buckling and structural stability. Refine and optimize the design based on the results. 3. Manufacturing Optimization Prioritize locally available L/C/U/I/H profiles suitable for fast cutting and punching with an ironworker. Minimize welding and assembly labour. All components must be suitable for hot-dip galvanizing. Compare welded, bolted and hybrid solutions for representative structural connections to identify the most economical fabrication method. Three complete structural designs are not required. REQUIRED DELIVERABLES 1. Editable optimized 3D structural model. 2. Structural calculations and verification report. 3. Steel bill of materials with profile sizes, lengths, quantities and total weights. 4. Connection schedule with estimated bolt quantities, punched holes and weld lengths. 5. Preliminary comparison of material quantities and fabrication operations for representative welded, bolted and hybrid connections. Deliverables should be provided progressively with the relevant milestones. SOFTWARE Tekla Structural Designer, RSTAB/RFEM or equivalent professional structural engineering software. We will provide existing SolidWorks CAD models. PROJECT GOAL Obtain reliable material quantities and fabrication requirements for construction budgeting. Full construction drawings are not required at this stage. Please specify your proposed software, relevant experience, deliverables, fixed price and estimated completion time for each milestone.
