Android QR Waste Data App

I need an Android application that lets users sign in with their Google account, open the camera, scan the QR code printed on a waste-bin lid, and immediately store the decoded data in a local SQLite database (or another lightweight store you suggest) together with a timestamp and the signed-in user’s UID. No extra steps—scan, capture, save. Core flow I have in mind 1. Google Sign-In launches on first open and keeps the user authenticated across sessions. 2. Tap a Scan button to activate the device camera. 3. The QR code on the bin is recognised; no manual input required. 4. The app records the raw code string plus date, time, and user, then confirms successful storage on screen. 5. A simple history screen lets the user review past scans in list form, sortable by date. Deliverables • Full Android Studio project (Java or Kotlin) with source code • APK ready for direct installation • README describing build steps and how to change storage from local to remote if needed • Brief test video or screenshots proving Google sign-in, scan, and data recording work on a real device Acceptance criteria • Google authentication completes without crashing or looping. • QR scanning recognises standard 2D codes under normal indoor lighting. • Data from each scan appears instantly in the history list with correct metadata. • Reinstalling the app clears local records (expected) but sign-in and scanning still function. If you have experience with ML Kit, ZXing, or similar libraries for reliable QR detection, mention it when you respond, as solid camera performance is important to me.
