Build an AI-Powered Personalized Programming Learning App

I’m looking for an experienced full-stack / AI developer to build an online programming learning application with an AI tutor at its core. The goal is to create a learning experience that adapts to each student rather than giving every student the same fixed course. Core Concept Each student will have an AI tutor that understands their current programming level, learning history, strengths, weaknesses, and progress. Based on this information, the AI tutor should dynamically decide what the student should learn next, generate appropriate exercises, evaluate their answers, explain mistakes, and continuously adjust the learning path. Key Features 1. AI Tutor Students can interact with an AI tutor while learning programming. The tutor should be able to: * Explain programming concepts at the student’s current level * Answer questions about lessons and exercises * Give hints without immediately revealing the answer * Identify misunderstandings and knowledge gaps * Adjust explanations based on previous interactions 2. Personalized Learning Path Instead of following one fixed curriculum, the system should generate and continuously adapt a learning plan for each student. For example, if a student understands variables and loops well but struggles with functions, the system should spend more time on functions and generate additional exercises before moving on. The learning path should therefore evolve based on the student’s actual performance. 3. AI-Generated Exercises The AI should generate programming exercises appropriate to the student’s current level and learning objectives. Exercises may include: * Multiple-choice questions * Predict-the-output questions * Debugging exercises * Small coding problems * Practical mini-projects Difficulty should automatically increase or decrease based on student performance. 4. Coding Environment Students should be able to write and run code directly inside the application. The system should evaluate the submitted code and allow the AI tutor to provide contextual feedback based on the student’s solution. 5. Student Learning Profile The system should maintain a learning profile for each student, including: * Topics learned * Current proficiency by topic * Completed exercises * Common mistakes * Strengths and weaknesses * Learning progress This information should be available to the AI tutor when deciding what to teach next. 6. Progress Dashboard Students should be able to see their learning progress, completed topics, current skills, and recommended next steps. Initial Scope I would prefer to start with an MVP rather than trying to build every possible feature. The first version can focus on one programming language (likely Python) and prove the core adaptive-learning loop: Learn → Practice → Evaluate → Identify gaps → Adapt curriculum → Learn next topic If the MVP works well, the platform can later expand to additional programming languages, courses, learning modes, and more advanced AI tutoring capabilities.
