Minnesota Home Structural Engineering

I’m a licensed builder putting up my own residence here in Minnesota and I need a structural engineer to collaborate with me on two critical pieces of the project: the full-basement foundation design and the wood-frame analysis for the superstructure. My permit set is in draft form; what’s missing are stamped calculations and drawings that satisfy local code, snow and wind loads, and frost-line requirements. Scope • Basement foundation: size, wall thickness, reinforcement, footing dimensions, drainage and insulation details—everything the inspector will expect in this climate. • Wood framing: beam and joist sizing, connection details, shear walls, and any lateral bracing the model shows we’ll need. I already have preliminary layouts in AutoCAD; if you prefer Revit, RISA, Enercalc or another package, that’s fine as long as the final PDFs are easy for the county to review. While load-bearing calculations weren’t on my initial list, I’m open to folding them in if your analysis shows a gap. Deliverables (stamped for Minnesota) • Foundation plan with sections and reinforcing schedules • Structural framing plan with member call-outs and connection specs • Calculation package demonstrating code compliance • Brief revision round after plan-check comments Timing is flexible but I’d like to submit to the city within four weeks.
