RE: NOTICE OF CONCERN – UNLICENSED CONTRACTING AND BUILDING PERMIT Dear Homeowner, It has recently come to our attention that you retained Scott Girard of Divine Custom Renovations to construct a pool house on your property. We understand that, at the time the project commenced, you were aware that Mr. Girard was not a licensed general contractor in the State of Georgia. We have also been informed that Mr. Girard paid approximately $1,500 to Mike Salisbury, a licensed contractor, to obtain the necessary building permit on behalf of Mr. Girard and Divine Custom Renovations. Our understanding is that Mr. Salisbury has no contractual relationship with you, is not supervising or managing the construction, and is not otherwise involved in the actual performance of the work. This arrangement raises serious concerns regarding compliance with Georgia’s contractor licensing and building permit requirements. We strongly recommend that you immediately verify the licensing status of all parties involved, confirm the validity of the building permit with the appropriate building department, and retain a properly licensed general contractor to oversee and assume responsibility for the project as required by applicable law. Please be advised that proceeding with construction under an improperly obtained permit or without the required licensed contractor may expose the property owner to significant financial, legal, insurance, and construction-related risks. We encourage you to address these matters promptly to protect your property and ensure compliance with applicable state and local requirements. Sincerely, [Attorney Name] [Law Firm] [Contact Information]
