I have a novel reluctance-motor geometry sketched out and need a quick, standalone feasibility check focused strictly on the magnetic field distribution. Your task is to set up the model in COMSOL Multiphysics, excite it with the parameters I will share (current, air-gap length, rotor/stator materials), and generate clear field-visualization plots of the magnetic flux density (B-field). Scope • Build or import the supplied 2D axisymmetric or 3D CAD—whichever you believe captures the physics without overcomplicating the run time. • Assign material properties, boundary conditions, and appropriate meshing so saturation and fringing are captured realistically. • Sweep at least two operating points (no-load and expected peak current) to see how the flux paths evolve. • Provide high-resolution B-field contour and vector plots, both in-plane and through critical cross-sections, to reveal any flux bottlenecks. Deliverables: The work should use COMSOL AC/DC Module and focus on one representative stator/rotor interaction region with an interleaved 4-rotor-tab / 3-stator-tab geometry. The main objective is to independently determine whether the geometry produces useful tangential force and whether a 1.5-inch tab width performs better than a 1.0-inch baseline under identical conditions. The initial scope includes: • one simplified local COMSOL model; • nonlinear Hiperco 50HS material data; • 4 rotor tabs / 3 stator tabs; • tab thickness: 0.125 in; • working clearance: 1/64 in; • 45° chamfers on leading and trailing edges; • compare 1.0 in and 1.5 in tab widths; • one representative coil-current or ampere-turn excitation; • extract tangential force, radial/normal force, magnetic flux density, saturation, and force versus rotor position; • basic mesh-convergence / mesh-sensitivity check. For this first stage, no permanent magnet, full 12-stator/8-rotor machine, PWM, H-bridge, regeneration, transient switching, thermal simulation, or COP/efficiency validation is required. The study must be completely neutral. No previously predicted torque, power, COP, efficiency, or performance values should be used as targets. Required deliverables: COMSOL model file, screenshots/plots of flux and force results, brief documentation of assumptions/materials/mesh settings, and a short conclusion comparing the 1.0-inch and 1.5-inch tab cases. My available budget for this first-stage study is € 250 up to € 500 fixed price. Please reply with: • your COMSOL experience, especially electromagnetic or motor-related work; • which COMSOL modules you use; • estimated completion time; • fixed-price quotation; • whether you can provide the editable COMSOL model file as part of the deliverables. The purpose of this first milestone is simply to determine whether the geometry is promising enough to justify further simulation work.
