Middle Grade Fiction Copy Editing

I’m seeking a professional copy/line editor for Jack: Silent Sentry, a completed novel of approximately 75,000 words aimed primarily at upper-middle-grade/younger-YA readers (approximately 11–15+), with adult crossover appeal. The manuscript has already undergone substantial developmental and line-level revision, so I am not looking for a structural rewrite. I’m looking for an editor who can refine the prose at sentence and paragraph level while protecting a highly distinctive narrative voice. Jack narrates in first-person present tense, with a deliberately dry, analytical, faux-bureaucratic voice. The manuscript uses Australian English, intentional fragments, recurring terminology and motifs, and a carefully developed rhythm between clipped observations and longer narrative passages. I want an editor who will recognise when these features are intentional rather than automatically regularising them. I’m particularly looking for help with clarity, flow, repetition, consistency, continuity, punctuation, grammar and sentence-level polish. I welcome strong editorial suggestions where something genuinely is not working, but would prefer querying and refinement over unnecessary expansion or rewriting. I would like the edit completed in Microsoft Word using Track Changes and editorial comments, ideally with a style sheet. A short sample edit before committing to the full manuscript would also be valuable. I am particularly interested in editors with experience in middle-grade/YA fiction, strong narrative voice, humour and/or speculative fiction.
