Freelance Textile Print Designer Needed

An Italian accessories brand is looking for a Freelance Textile Print Designer / Textile Artwork Designer to support us with the technical development of our textile designs. Our creative direction and designs are developed internally. We will provide finished concepts, reference images, patterns, colour palettes, product dimensions and clear visual instructions. These may also include mock-ups showing exactly how the final design should look. We are looking for someone who can take these references and rebuild, refine and prepare them as professional, production-ready files for textile printing, while remaining as faithful as possible to the original design. WHAT WE NEED Depending on the project, the work may include: - Rebuilding artwork from our reference images and source materials - Cleaning up and refining existing artwork - Recreating graphic elements when necessary - Preparing artwork at the exact final product dimensions - Creating or correcting seamless repeats when required - Adapting patterns and artwork to specific product shapes - Maintaining the original composition, proportions, scale and colours - Preparing front and back artwork when required - Checking resolution and overall print quality - Preparing final production files according to the textile printer's technical specifications Our products include silk scarves, twillies, shawls and other printed textile accessories. IMPORTANT We are not looking for someone to develop the creative collection from scratch. The concept, composition and overall appearance will already be defined and provided by us.

The role

is primarily to translate our designs into accurate, technically correct and production-ready textile artwork. The ability to accurately reproduce the supplied reference is therefore very important.

REQUIREMENTS

Previous experience with textile printing and preparing artwork for production is strongly preferred. - Excellent knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and/or Adobe Illustrator, together with a good understanding of textile print preparation, dimensions, resolution, repeats and colour management. COLLABORATION This is a freelance, project-based collaboration, not an hourly position. We are looking for someone we can work with on an ongoing basis as we develop new designs and future collections.
