Our Risk & Compliance practice is looking for an experienced Director to help shape and grow our Economic Crime capability. Baringa is committed to reducing economic crime and the negative consequences it has on society. We help clients understand how economic crime can be carried out through their organisations and put in place targeted, proportionate controls that manage risk effectively while supporting sustainable growth and positive customer outcomes. As a Director, you will combine deep Economic crime expertise with senior client leadership, commercial development and practice building. You will advise executive stakeholders, originate and grow client opportunities, lead complex transformation programmes and develop the people, propositions and market profile that support the continued growth of our business.
Building trusted relationships with Chief Risk Officers, Chief Compliance Officers, MLROs, Heads of Economic crime and other senior client stakeholders Originating, shaping and converting Economic crime opportunities and building a sustainable portfolio of clients and revenue Leading complex, multi-workstream Economic crime programmes from strategy and design through to implementation Advising clients on regulatory expectations, emerging threats, leading practice and the practical design of proportionate controls Overseeing assessments of Economic crime frameworks and translating findings into prioritised remediation plans and roadmaps Shaping technology-enabled transformation across KYC, transaction monitoring, screening, investigations and case management Defining and growing market-relevant propositions, thought leadership and go-to-market activity Raising the visibility of Baringa's Economic crime capability through senior client conversations, industry engagement and external market presence Leading, coaching and developing high-performing teams while maintaining a strong focus on quality, inclusion and client outcomes Working collaboratively across Baringa's sectors and capabilities to bring the best of the firm to clients and create broader opportunities Contributing to the strategic direction, commercial performance and leadership of the wider Risk & Compliance practice Your skills and experience Significant Economic/Financial crime consulting experience within a recognised consultancy, specialist advisory firm Deep expertise across one or more of AML, KYC/CDD, sanctions, transaction monitoring, fraud, screening, investigations or Economic crime operations Strong knowledge of the Economic/Financial crime legal and regulatory landscape, regulatory expectations and relevant industry practice A track record of leading large, complex Economic crime transformation, remediation or technology-enabled change programmes Credibility with executive stakeholders, including CROs, CCOs, MLROs and senior operational and technology leaders Demonstrable experience originating and converting consulting opportunities and developing long-term client accounts Experience shaping propositions, campaigns, thought leadership or new capability areas in response to market demand Strong commercial judgement, including the ability to manage delivery quality, client outcomes and engagement economics Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and coaching senior consultants and future leaders An understanding of Economic crime technology platforms, data requirements and vendor solutions commonly used across regulated firms
