AI Software Lead, B2B SaaS Architecture

Software Architect & AI Technical Lead (Python · B2B SaaS · Telecom) Location: Remote (Mexico or LATAM, Mexico City time zone) · Periodic visits to Mexico City Type: Full-time or project-based (contractor) Language: Spanish (fluent) and English (technical) About us We are a new mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) in Mexico that competes on value, not price. We are building two products on a single platform: A B2B platform where companies onboard, manage their mobile lines and cost centers, and receive electronic invoices (CFDI) allocated by cost center. A perks layer for consumers: every mobile line includes discounts and benefits delivered through WhatsApp and the web, powered by AI agents.

The role

You will own the architecture of both products and lead a small in-house team of three engineers (backend, integrations and AI) to launch in weeks, then scale. We are looking for someone who designs, builds and is accountable for the technical decisions, not only someone who writes great code.

What you will do

Design a multi-tenant platform where one company can never access another company's data, including through AI agents. Decide what to build and what to buy as managed services (identity, managed database, messaging, e-invoicing, monitoring), balancing cost and speed. Design the AI model router: per-user usage quotas, routing between lightweight and larger models, spend controls and provider failover. Define how AI agents are built and evaluated, so they answer only with real data and never invent prices or codes. Design integrations with external providers (telecom carrier APIs, perks catalogs, e-invoicing) using adapters, retries and fallback plans. Build security in from day one: minimal personal data, secrets management, least privilege, encryption, audit logs and privacy compliance. Review and approve code, document architecture decisions and communicate risks to leadership in business terms. What we are looking for 7+ years in software development, including 3+ as an architect or technical lead. Preferably available for 6-month/1-year service You have designed and shipped a SaaS or B2B platform to production, end to end. Proven experience leading engineers: code reviews, architecture decisions and mentoring. Strong Python (FastAPI or Django) and PostgreSQL. Event-driven systems: queues, retries, idempotency and failure recovery. Production experience with Google Cloud or AWS. Hands-on generative AI: LLM integration, RAG, tool calling or agents, including cost and quality control. Application security: authentication, role-based access control and data protection.

Multi-agent architectures or MCP servers. WhatsApp Business API. Telecom, fintech, payments or loyalty and benefits programs. Mexican e-invoicing (CFDI) or payment integrations. Next.js or React. Security frameworks such as NIST or ISO 27001.
