Humanoid Robot Assembly Engineering

I’m midway through building a full-size humanoid robot and have hit the critical mechanical phase. I need a senior-level mechanical engineer who can take my rough concepts, partial CAD, and functional goals and turn them into a fully detailed, manufacturable design. While some details—such as exact frame geometry, motor mounts, and sensor brackets—are still flexible, the overall size, degrees of freedom, and performance targets are set. Your mission is to refine the mechanical architecture, produce production-ready drawings, and guide the first physical build. I’ll rely on you for: • Creating a complete 3D CAD model and 2D fabrication drawings for torso, limbs, and joint assemblies (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar—STEP output required). • Running basic FEA or equivalent stress checks to confirm structural integrity for a 15 kg payload per arm. • Generating a clear bill of materials with sourcing suggestions for motors, bearings, fasteners, and sheet-metal or 3-D-printed parts. • Advising on alignment jigs, torque specs, and assembly order so the initial build comes together smoothly. • Collaborating with my electronics lead to confirm motor and sensor placement, cable routing, and maintainability. Acceptance criteria: 1. CAD shows no interferences and meets the payload spec. 2. First-article parts assemble without re-machining. 3. Documentation is complete enough for a third-party fabricator to reproduce the build unassisted. If you excel at precision robotic assemblies and can jump in right away, I’d love to work together.
