Payment will be tied to agreed project milestones/deliverables. We need someone who can commit approximately 60 hours per week, work primarily in the US Pacific Time (PST/PDT) zone, and be available for real-time communication throughout the working day. We are looking for a solo engineer/freelancer, not an agency or team. We are looking for an experienced electrical/sensor engineer to design, build, and bench-test a one-phase medium-voltage line sensor prototype. The system should provide: - 1 voltage sensing output - 1 current output for general measurement/event detection - 1 high-frequency current output for transient measurement The work includes the actual voltage and current sensing structures, not only signal-conditioning electronics. Main Tasks - Design the voltage and current sensing architecture - Develop the sensing structure, protection, termination, and compensation - Select and evaluate the 2-meter cable and AFE interface - Build at least one working prototype; two are preferred - Test frequency response, phase, linearity, noise, crosstalk, and transient response - Improve the design based on test results - Deliver schematics, BOM, drawings, raw test data, and editable design files Target characterization is approximately 10 Hz–250 kHz for the voltage/general-current paths and up to 500 kHz or higher for the high-frequency current path. Experience with Rogowski coils, capacitive voltage sensing, magnetics, analog electronics, signal integrity, power systems, and sensor prototype testing is preferred.
