The goal is to release a mobile app for Android that lets children, parents, and teachers build their own stories by dragging-and-dropping characters, scenes, and dialogue blocks onto an interactive canvas. Every action should feel playful and immediate: tap an element from a side palette, drag it into place, then link it to the next part of the tale to create a clear, visual flow. Core requirement • True drag-and-drop editing of story elements with smooth animations and magnetic snap points so even younger users can rearrange a plot without text menus. Nice-to-have items such as pre-made templates or voice recording could be phased in later, yet the first milestone must focus solely on the drag-and-drop experience and clean visual feedback. Technical outline • Native Android build (Kotlin or Java). • Touch-friendly UI that complies with Google Material guidelines. • Local data storage in JSON or Room so unfinished stories reopen exactly where a child left off. • Export to PDF or simple image sequence for easy sharing. Deliverables – Complete Android Studio project with well-commented source code. – Release-ready APK signed with a temporary key. – One-page quick-start guide outlining main screens and gestures. Acceptance criteria 1. A new story can be created, saved, re-opened, and deleted without crashes. 2. Dragging an element shows a live preview, and releasing it instantly locks it to the grid. 3. Performance stays above 50 fps on a standard Android tablet (Android 10, 3 GB RAM). 4. The exported PDF reproduces the node order exactly as shown on screen.
