# QA Tester Required – Windows Desktop Monitoring Software We are looking for an experienced software QA tester to thoroughly test our Windows desktop application, UpDown247 is an agentless server and website monitoring application designed for IT administrators and small businesses. It monitors Linux servers, Windows computers, websites, network services and SSL certificates. The application is built using C#/.NET and runs on Windows. **Scope of Testing** **1. Installation and Uninstallation** - Test installation using the provided Windows setup.exe installer. - Verify installation on Windows 10 and Windows 11. - Test uninstalling and reinstalling the application. - Verify that application settings are saved correctly. - Check for installation errors, missing dependencies and Windows security warnings. **2. Linux Server Monitoring** - Connect to Linux servers using SSH. - Test username/password authentication. - Test invalid credentials and connection failures. - Verify CPU, RAM, disk usage and uptime monitoring. - Test server offline and online detection. - Verify monitoring refresh intervals and error handling. **3. Windows Computer Monitoring** - Connect to remote Windows computers using WinRM. - Verify CPU, RAM, disk and uptime monitoring. - Test valid and invalid credentials. - Test unreachable computers, timeouts and access-denied errors. - Verify that monitoring data is displayed correctly. **4. Website and Service Monitoring** - Test HTTP and HTTPS website monitoring. - Verify detection of unavailable websites. - Test TCP port and service monitoring. - Verify SSL certificate expiry monitoring. - Test invalid URLs and connection timeouts. **5. User Interface Testing** - Test adding, editing and removing monitored devices. - Check layout, buttons, menus and navigation. - Test resizing the application window. - Check for overlapping or cut-off text. - Verify monitoring graphs and historical data. - Test desktop notifications and alerts. - Check application stability during extended use. **6. Performance and Reliability** - Test multiple monitored devices simultaneously. - Check CPU and memory consumption of the application. - Run the application continuously for at least 24 hours. - Identify crashes, freezing, memory leaks and unexpected behaviour. **Required Deliverables** 1. Detailed QA test report. 2. Test cases with pass/fail results. 3. Bug list with severity ratings (Critical, High, Medium, Low). 4. Screenshots or screen recordings demonstrating each bug. 5. Clear steps to reproduce each issue. 6. Windows version and test environment details. 7. Final summary of software stability and release readiness. **Requirements** - Experience testing Windows desktop applications. - Familiarity with Linux, SSH and Windows WinRM. - Basic understanding of server and website monitoring. - Ability to provide professional, structured bug reports. - Access to Windows 10/11 testing environments. - Preferably access to Linux and Windows virtual machines. We will provide the Windows installer and basic setup instructions. This is a testing-only project. No software development or source code modification is required. Please include your previous QA testing experience, available test environments and estimated completion time in your proposal.
