I’m preparing a hydrodynamic study on the KRISO container ship at a Froude number of 0.15 and want to apply the double-body method inside ANSYS Fluent. The goal is to predict total resistance, document every modelling decision, and then benchmark the numerical results against reliable reference data. Here’s what I need from you: first, source or recreate a clean KRISO hull surface and locate published resistance data suitable for validation at Fn 0.15. Next, walk me through the full Fluent workflow—importing geometry, generating an adequate viscous grid, setting up a steady RANS solver with an appropriate turbulence model, defining boundary conditions that reflect the double-body assumption (no free surface), running the case, and post-processing forces and coefficients. Please capture each step with screenshots and concise explanations so I can follow the exact procedure later. Once the run is converged, I’d like a professional report that includes methodology, mesh independence discussion, solver settings, plotted convergence histories, resistance breakdown, and a side-by-side comparison with the reference values you located. Highlight any discrepancies and suggest possible reasons or improvements. Deliverables will therefore be: • Complete Fluent/Workbench files and meshes ready to reopen • A step-by-step guide (PDF or Word) illustrated with screenshots • The final technical report with the validation section and comparison plots If you use additional utilities—ICEM, SpaceClaim, OpenFOAM for cross-checks—please archive those files as well. Accuracy, clarity of documentation, and reproducibility are the key acceptance criteria.
