I’m building a self-contained application that lives onsite at our theme-park ride and turns raw GoPro footage into a polished souvenir clip before the guests even step off the platform. The workflow is intentionally simple: trim the start and end, stitch the segments together, and export a single MP4 that shows a clean, wide-angle view of the entire ride. No fancy transitions, overlays, or multi-camera switching—speed and reliability are far more important for our operators. Here’s what I need from you: • A lightweight desktop (Windows or Linux) program or script that can ingest a continuous GoPro file, detect the ride’s actual run time via a timecode, cue point, or other logic we agree on, then perform basic trimming and stitching automatically. • One-click export to MP4 in 1080p, maintaining smooth playback on consumer phones and social media. • A preview window so staff can quickly review the clip before saving or re-processing. • Clear documentation plus an installer or portable build we can drop onto multiple machines without an internet connection. You’re free to use ffmpeg, OpenCV, or any other open-source stack under permissive licenses as long as the final package runs offline and the user interface is intuitive for non-technical staff. Acceptance criteria – Processing time no longer than the ride duration + 60 seconds on a mid-range PC. – Output file plays back on Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android without additional conversion. – Controls limited to Start, Stop, Preview, and Export to keep the learning curve minimal.
