Internship - Project Engineering - Autonomous Boats & Unmanned Systems

Lemvos Robotics is a young technology start-up based in Augsburg developing unmanned boats and automation systems for maritime applications. We are looking for an intern to join our small, highly motivated and international team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a start-up environment, taking responsibility for their own work and contributing across a wide range of technical and project-related activities. Tasks Your main responsibilities will include supporting the identification and application for research and development funding programmes, as well as helping to manage ongoing R&D projects. Typical tasks will include: Researching relevant government, regional and European funding programmes Supporting the preparation and writing of funding proposals Assisting with project management, reporting and coordination of ongoing projects Communicating with project partners and supporting project documentation Helping to prepare technical and commercial material for proposals and projects Supporting general project engineering activities where required As a small start-up, the role will also include a variety of tasks depending on your skills and interests. These may include component selection, minor mechanical assembly and construction, electrical design or assembly, technical documentation, testing, and video or media editing.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in Business with Engineering, Engineering Management, or a related engineering/business degree Fluent German, minimum B2 level Sufficient English for day-to-day internal communication; the working language within the team is primarily English Proficient with Microsoft Office Comfortable using a range of AI tools Organised, proactive and able to work independently Additional skills that would be valuable: Previous experience applying for government, regional or European funding programmes Practical workshop experience with electrical or mechanical systems Experience or personal interest in the marine, robotics or autonomous systems industry Benefits Opportunity to work directly within an early-stage technology start-up Broad exposure to engineering, R&D funding and project management High level of flexibility and autonomy Opportunity to take ownership of real projects and responsibilities Role and scope can be adapted to your skills, interests and learning objectives Full-time position that can be adjusted to meet your university internship requirements The position is based in Augsburg and can start at any time from now onwards.
