I need a structural engineer experienced in industrial steel warehouse and shed design to design a lightweight and economical MS structure using mainly C-channels and RHS/box pipes, suitable for fabrication and erection in India. Project Details Building size: 145 ft × 55 ft Building type: Industrial warehouse Roof: Double-slope / gable roof Clear height: 10,365 mm (approximately 34 ft) Roofing: JSW 0.60 mm PPGI profile sheet Vertical cladding: JSW 0.60 mm PPGI profile sheet Brick masonry: 3 m high brick wall on all sides Crane: 5-ton EOT crane Structure: MS steel Design objective: Lightweight, economical and structurally safe Preferred Structural System I specifically want the structure optimized using C-channel or built-up C-channel columns, RHS/box-pipe roof trusses, RHS/box-pipe structural members wherever economical, C-channel or Z-channel purlins and girts as appropriate, and box-pipe or angle bracing as required. The designer should avoid unnecessarily heavy I-sections wherever a properly designed C-channel or box-pipe solution can safely perform the required function. Main Structural Requirement The warehouse must be designed for a 5-ton EOT crane, including crane self-weight, 5-ton rated lifting capacity, crane wheel loads, impact and dynamic effects, horizontal surge forces, longitudinal braking forces, crane runway beam and support reactions, and connection and column effects. The crane runway and supporting structure should be properly integrated with the main building frame. The engineer should determine the applicable design loads based on the actual project/site conditions rather than assuming unsuitable values. Important Requirement The key objective is lightweight, economical, 5-ton EOT crane capable, safe and fabrication friendly. Please optimize the steel tonnage without compromising structural safety, serviceability, crane operation or compliance with applicable Indian Standards. I am looking for a designer who has experience with industrial sheds, PEB/MS structures and EOT crane buildings.
