High-Accuracy e57 Cloud Fusion

Several separate e57 point-cloud scans from a Leica-scanner need to be merged into a single master file. The scans overlap visibly, so alignment must be achieved by recognising and matching those common zones rather than relying on preset scan positions or targets. I want every overlapping region checked, aligned, and then de-duplicated so the final file stays lean and easy to handle without losing any valid geometry. Because the result will be used for precise measurements, the registration has to reach the highest achievable accuracy. Expect me to verify this with distance spot-checks and cross-sections once the file is delivered. Preferred workflow is up to you—CloudCompare, Leica Cyclone, Autodesk ReCap, FARO Scene, Trimble RealWorks or a similar rigor-grade toolset are all acceptable as long as the accuracy goal is met and the export remains in e57. Deliverables • One consolidated, cleaned e57 point cloud, properly aligned and stripped of duplicate points - a RCP-file of the merged point cloud • A brief note outlining the software used, key settings, and any residual alignment error you observed (RMSE or comparable metric) The project is straightforward: create one flawlessly stitched, measurement-ready e57.
