Short & Long-Form Video Editor | Final Cut Pro + After Effects + Motion Graphics

We are looking for a creative and highly skilled Video Editor / Social Media Virtual Assistant to join our team full-time. The majority of your work will involve editing short-form and long-form talking-head content for platforms such as Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, TikTok, and YouTube. We are looking for someone who can do more than simply cut footage. You should understand pacing, storytelling, retention, motion graphics, animation, typography, sound design, and visual presentation. Main Responsibilities - Edit short-form vertical videos for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts - Edit long-form YouTube videos - Primarily edit using Final Cut Pro - Create custom motion graphics and animations using Adobe After Effects - Edit talking-head videos and make them visually engaging - Create animated text, kinetic typography, lower thirds, transitions, callouts, and visual effects - Create logo animations and branded motion graphics - Add B-roll, screenshots, images, graphics, sound effects, music, and other visual elements - Create graphics and designs for social media - Design Instagram carousel posts and other branded social content - Follow existing brand guidelines and maintain a consistent visual style - Organize project files and media properly - Make revisions based on feedback - Help improve the overall quality and style of our social media content Required Skills You should have strong experience with: - Final Cut Pro — REQUIRED - Adobe After Effects — REQUIRED - Short-form social media editing - Long-form YouTube editing - Talking-head video editing - Motion graphics - Text animation - Kinetic typography - Lower thirds - Transitions - Logo animation - Visual effects - Sound design - Graphic design - Social media carousel design - Strong understanding of pacing, hooks, retention, and storytelling Experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, or similar graphic-design software is a plus. The Style We're Looking For We want clean, modern, professional editing — not excessive effects just for the sake of adding effects. You should know when a video needs: - Motion graphics - B-roll - Animated text - Zooms and reframing - Screenshots - Sound effects - Visual callouts - Maps or graphics - Pattern interrupts You should be comfortable taking relatively simple talking-head footage and turning it into polished, engaging content.
