1. Project Overview & Objective The Consultant shall perform a complete engineering verification and validation audit of all Electrical, Instrumentation, and Control Network schematics against the current pilot functional design basis. The primary objective is to audit, log, escalate, and reconcile all design discrepancies between physical schematics and software implementations across three core architectural tiers: Tier 1 (Siemens PLC/Safety), Tier 2 (Python Edge Intelligence), and Tier 3 (Streamlit HMI/Simulation). 2. Detailed Technical Work Package Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM): Build and maintain a 1:1 RTM mapping every physical field instrument, safety loop, and control tag on E&I drawings directly to software I/O addresses, Siemens TIA Portal watch tables, and Python edge protocol tags. Tier 1: Hardware & Safety Loop Validation: Reconcile physical rack layouts, terminal rail connections, and PLC card channel assignments (4–20 mA, RTD, Discrete I/O). Cross-examine hardwired E-Stop circuits, safety relays, and fail-safe I/O modules (F-DI/F-DO) against Siemens Safety permissives and Cause & Effect matrices. Tier 2: Edge & Communications Architecture: Verify serial/Ethernet gateway power distribution, RS485/RS232 pinouts, and network topologies (PROFINET, Modbus TCP) against Python edge intelligence configurations. Validate hardwired and protocol-based watchdog output circuits to guarantee fail-safe system state transitions upon edge disconnect. Tier 3: HMI & Simulation Interface: Confirm local/remote selector switches, panel indications, and test/simulation isolators are accurately reflected in Streamlit HMI telemetry and PLC simulation modes.
