Dynamic Arabic Novel Cover Design

Project Title: Arabic Novel Book Cover Designer Needed – “أحتاج صديق” | 3 Initial Sketch Concepts + Full Print Cover Project Description: I am looking for an experienced Arabic book cover designer to create a professional, original, and commercially strong cover for my Arabic psychological/social novel: Book title: أحتاج صديق Author: عبدالرحمن البقيش Genre: Psychological / Social Fiction Trim size: 14 cm × 20 cm Arabic typography experience is essential. Please do not apply if your portfolio does not include strong Arabic design, typography, editorial design, or book-cover work. The novel revolves around a private room created for people who simply need someone to listen to them without interruption, judgment, diagnosis, or advice. The key visual element inside the room is a heavy black velvet curtain extending from ceiling to floor, permanently closed between two identical chairs. The two people can hear each other, but they cannot see each other. The room itself includes dark green walls, two identical aged brown leather chairs, wooden flooring, a subtle handmade Persian rug, and soft warm indirect lighting. These details are provided as inspiration only. I do not want every object included in the cover. I prefer a clean, intelligent composition with a strong concept rather than a crowded literal illustration. The overall mood should feel: Psychological, mysterious, cinematic, elegant, intimate and calm — but NOT horror. I already have several visual references and previous concepts that I will share with the selected designer. They should be used to understand the direction and taste, not copied directly. For the main title “أحتاج صديق”, Arabic typography will be one of the most important parts of the design. I want the title to have a strong visual identity and presence. One direction I particularly like uses a dark palette of: Dark green + black + aged brown + orange accent I also like the idea of orange appearing very close to the title lettering as a tight shadow / offset / outline effect, rather than placing the title over a large orange rectangle. For the rest of the typography — author name, “رواية”, spine and back-cover text — I prefer a modern, elegant and highly readable Arabic typeface. Initial Concept Stage I want to see 3 genuinely different initial concepts, but please note: I am NOT requesting 3 fully finished cover designs. The first stage should only consist of 3 rough sketches / draft concepts / visual directions showing the main idea, composition and visual approach. For example: One concept may directly use the two chairs with the closed curtain between them. One concept should interpret the ideas of listening, isolation, confession and anonymity in a more conceptual/non-literal way. One concept may be more artistic, bold and commercially distinctive while still suitable for an Arabic psychological novel. After reviewing the three initial sketches, ONE direction will be selected and developed into the finished design. Final Cover The selected concept will then be developed into a complete print cover consisting of: Front Cover + Spine + Back Cover The back cover should feel like a continuation of the front-cover identity. I do not want a plain empty background with text added on top. It can subtly continue elements such as the dark green wall, carpet, curtain, or a partial chair, but it should remain clean and give the text enough space. The designer should therefore be willing to make the final spine-width adjustment later once I provide the printing specifications. Required Final Deliverables The final project must include: Print-ready PDF 300 DPI Correct bleed / print setup High-resolution PNG/JPG Fully editable layered source file (PSD / AI / Affinity-compatible file preferred) Front, back and spine as a complete wraparound cover Separate front-cover artwork if required Commercial-use rights for the final artwork Only properly licensed fonts, images and graphical assets Final spine-width adjustment when page count/paper specifications are confirmed AI-generated artwork may only be used if discussed with me first and if commercial rights and final quality are suitable for professional printing. I prefer thoughtful original design and art direction rather than a generic AI-generated cover.
