Modern React/Next.js Web App Build

I have a partially-built, modern web application that needs a sharp React/Next.js developer to take it to the next level. You’ll pick up the existing codebase, refine the responsive UI, wire up new screens, and ensure smooth communication with our backend through well-structured REST endpoints. Clean, maintainable code is non-negotiable, and I value proactive communication with brief progress notes every few days so we stay aligned. Your day-to-day will include: • Extending and polishing React components with styled-JSX or your preferred CSS-in-JS approach • Implementing mobile-first responsiveness that behaves consistently across modern browsers • Integrating and testing REST calls for data fetch, mutation, and authentication flows • Hooking the frontend to our database layer (currently flexible on tech—happy to discuss MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or MySQL depending on what fits best) • Setting up secure auth (JWT or OAuth2) and handling edge-case states gracefully • Writing clear, well-commented code and submitting pull requests that pass automated checks To help me gauge fit, please send: • Links or repos for two or three React/Next.js projects with similar API integrations • A concise outline of how you’d phase the work and an estimated timeline • Your proposed hourly rate or a fixed-price breakdown by milestone Once we agree on scope, I’ll provide repo access, API documentation, and the current UI designs so you can dive straight in.
