Remote Joinery Drafter / PYTHA Designer – CNC Production Files (Full-Time) Job Title: Experienced Retail Joinery Drafter – PYTHA + AlphaCAM CNC Programming About the Role We are an Australian cabinetmaking and commercial joinery business looking for an experienced remote joinery drafter to join our team on a full-time basis.

The role

involves producing accurate shop drawings, detailed joinery designs and production-ready CNC files for retail joinery, shopfitting, cabinetry and custom commercial projects. You will work remotely with our Australian team, taking project drawings and concepts through to completed manufacturing files ready for production in our workshop. Key Responsibilities * Produce detailed 3D joinery models and shop drawings using PYTHA. * Interpret architectural drawings, plans, elevations and joinery details. * Prepare accurate cutting lists, panel sizes and material specifications. * Generate CNC-ready files using AlphaCAM. * Nest and optimise sheet materials to minimise waste. * Program cabinets, counters, retail displays, curved joinery and custom shopfitting components. * Apply correct toolpaths, drilling patterns, routing operations and machining allowances. * Ensure all files are accurate and ready for manufacturing. * Coordinate with our Australian team to clarify drawings and resolve production issues. * Revise drawings and CNC files when project changes are required. Required Skills and Experience * Strong, proven experience using PYTHA for commercial joinery and cabinetry. * Experience with AlphaCAM CNC programming. * Experience producing production-ready CNC files, not just 3D models or presentation drawings. * Understanding of cabinet construction, joinery methods, board thicknesses, edging and hardware. * Experience with nesting CNC routers and sheet processing. * Ability to read and interpret Australian architectural and shopfitting drawings. * Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently. * Good English communication skills and reliable internet access. CNC Machine and Software Workflow Our workshop uses a 2016 Woodtron Advance Auto Label CNC with automatic loading/unloading and a pre-label station. Our intended software workflow is: PYTHA → AlphaCAM → CNC-ready machine files You must be able to prepare files suitable for our actual Woodtron machine and controller configuration. Experience with Woodtron machines or similar industrial nesting CNC routers is highly regarded. Applicants must be willing to help verify the correct post-processor, file format, tool configuration and machining workflow before production files are approved. Employment Arrangement * Position: Full-time remote contractor or employee, depending on arrangement. * Location: Worldwide; applicants can work from any country. * Budget: A$15–25 per hour, depending on skills and experience. * Hours: Approximately 38–40 hours per week, subject to agreement. * Work: Ongoing projects for the right candidate. * Communication: Regular communication with our Australian workshop and management team.
