A high-quality freelance video editor is required to create a strong, polished leadership video from raw footage captured during a recent company meeting. The footage includes an unscripted speech delivered by the Managing Director to the full sales floor at the end of the meeting. The speech was delivered naturally and off the cuff rather than written for social media. The objective is to turn that raw material into a compelling piece of content that feels authentic, confident, credible and motivational without becoming overly dramatic or artificial. This is not simply a technical editing assignment. The most important requirement is strong creative judgment. The successful editor will need to review the available footage, identify the strongest sections of the speech, remove weaker or repetitive moments, and construct a clear narrative that brings out the most powerful leadership and motivational elements. The final result should feel like a well-crafted piece of founder or senior-leadership content rather than a collection of clips placed together in chronological order. The editor should be comfortable making creative decisions independently. This may include restructuring parts of the speech, using lines from different moments to create a stronger opening or conclusion, selecting audience reaction shots, allowing pauses to breathe, and deciding when music, captions, sound design or visual changes genuinely improve the piece. The original meaning and context of the speech must always remain accurate. Nothing should be edited in a way that changes the intended message or makes the speaker appear to say something materially different from what was communicated in the room. Tone and positioning are extremely important. The desired style is confident, understated, premium and authentic. The speaker is a senior business leader with a direct communication style. The edit should strengthen that presence rather than try to manufacture a larger-than-life personality. The video should not feel like generic motivational social-media content. Avoid excessive transitions, constant zooms, unnecessary visual effects, over-dramatic music, artificial hype, or editing techniques that make the material feel staged. The strongest version of this project will probably be relatively restrained: good pacing, excellent shot selection, subtle sound design, clean typography, strong audio, appropriate music and a clear narrative. A useful creative reference would be high-quality founder documentary content, behind-the-scenes leadership films, business interviews, keynote excerpts and premium personal-brand content. The aim is to make a real moment inside a company feel cinematic and professionally considered while preserving the natural atmosphere of the original meeting. The finished piece should make the viewer feel that they are seeing a genuine leadership moment rather than an advertisement. The editor will receive the raw meeting footage and should review enough of the material to understand the atmosphere of the room and the context around the speech. Although the speech itself is the central focus, other footage from the meeting may be used where it improves the story. This could include wide shots of the room, audience reactions, people listening, applause, close-ups, contextual shots of the office or team, and any other moments that help create a stronger sense of place and occasion. Strong editorial instincts are therefore essential. The editor should be able to recognise not only the strongest spoken lines, but also the moments between the words: pauses, reactions, changes in energy, expressions and small details that make a leadership video feel real. The opening is particularly important. The first few seconds should immediately create interest without relying on a cheap or exaggerated social-media hook. A strong line from later in the speech may be used at the beginning if that creates a better introduction. The structure does not need to follow the original chronology provided that the resulting story remains truthful and coherent. Music should support emotion without overpowering the speech. Subtle cinematic or documentary-style music is preferred, with silence and natural sound used when strongest. Audio quality is important. Dialogue should be clear, consistent and professionally balanced. Background noise should be reduced where possible without making the voice sound unnatural. Any music or ambient sound should sit comfortably underneath the speech. Captions may be used where appropriate, especially for vertical social-media versions. They should be clean, sophisticated and easy to read. Avoid oversized words appearing one at a time, excessive animation, emojis or other formatting commonly associated with lower-quality short-form content. Selected emphasis on particularly strong phrases is welcome if it is done tastefully. The main intended platforms are Instagram and LinkedIn, so the edit must work well for viewers watching on a mobile device. The primary version should therefore be suitable for vertical social-media use. If the source footage and composition support it, an additional landscape or square version may also be useful. The expected primary deliverable is one strong main edit of approximately 60 to 120 seconds. The exact duration should be determined by the quality of the material rather than forced to fit a specific length. If the speech contains enough strong content, a second longer version of approximately two to four minutes may also be required. Up to two reasonable rounds of revisions should be included. The first version should already demonstrate strong independent creative thinking rather than simply presenting a rough assembly and relying on detailed instructions from the client to shape the final piece. Relevant experience may include: * Founder or CEO personal-brand content * Leadership and motivational videos * Documentary-style editing * Business interviews * Key
