Mobile App Recovery and Development

Recover, Reconstruct and Fix Existing Mobile App Project Overview I am looking for an experienced mobile app developer who can help me recover and continue development of an existing mobile application. A few months ago, I hired a freelancer through Freelancer.com to develop the app. The application was completed and uploaded to both the Apple App Store and Google Play. The iOS version was approved and published successfully. However, the Google Play version was rejected and requires changes before it can be published. Unfortunately, the original developer is no longer responding to my messages or emails, and their Freelancer.com account is no longer available. Because of this, I need a new developer who can investigate the existing application, recover as much of the project as technically possible, and take over the development. What I Currently Have I have access to: • Apple App Store Connect • Google Play Console • The existing iOS app/build that was uploaded • The existing Android/Google Play build and files that were uploaded • The Supabase backend/database • Supabase credentials and project access • The Google Play rejection information • Other files and information that the previous developer provided or uploaded However, I do not currently have the complete original source code/project files. What I Need The main objective is to determine what can be recovered from the existing builds and available project resources and then get the application back into a maintainable development state. The work may include: 1. Inspecting the existing iOS and Android builds. 2. Determining what technology/framework was used to build the application. 3. Recovering or reconstructing as much of the application source/project structure as technically possible. 4. Investigating the connection between the application and Supabase. 5. Understanding the existing database, authentication, APIs, storage and backend functionality. 6. Recreating missing project files where necessary. 7. Setting up the project so it can be built and maintained by a new developer. 8. Making the changes required by Google Play’s rejection. 9. Testing the application on Android and iOS. 10. Preparing and submitting an updated version to Google Play. 11. Ensuring that the existing iOS version continues to work correctly. 12. Providing properly organized source code and project files at the end of the project. Important I am not expecting the original source code to magically be recovered if that is technically impossible. I want an experienced developer who can first assess what is available and determine the most practical way to recover or reconstruct the project. The existing application is already functional, so I do not want to unnecessarily rebuild everything from scratch if significant parts of the application can be recovered or reused. Before Starting Please explain: 1. Whether you have experience recovering or reconstructing mobile applications from existing builds. 2. What information/files you would need from me to assess the project. 3. How you would determine whether the application can be recovered without the original source code. 4. Whether you think it is better to recover/reconstruct the existing application or rebuild certain parts. 5. Your estimated cost and timeline for the assessment and subsequent development. I can provide access to the relevant accounts, builds and project resources once we establish the scope and security requirements. I am looking for someone who can potentially take over the project long-term, not just fix the Google Play rejection.
