Highway Camera Pole Survey

The job is to set out and precisely align three separate pole foundations that will carry a new highway-mounted camera system. All three foundations sit at different points along the same stretch of road, so every setting-out visit must be repeatable and referenced to a common control on the carriageway. Site scope • Multiple locations along the highway mean the control network must be transferable from one pole position to the next without loss of accuracy. Information supplied I will hand over current as-built drawings, complete with coordinate schedule and finished-level data. Any additional control you establish must tie back to these drawings. Required services • Position and level setting-out – mark the exact centre, finished level and concrete cut-off for each foundation. • Straight-line alignment – ensure the three poles sit on the designed line of sight for the camera beam. (Anchor-bolt layout is already detailed on the drawings; if time allows you may check that as part of the overall set-out, but the critical tasks are the two items above.) Deliverables 1. Field notes or RAW/CSV data straight from your total station. 2. A brief verification report confirming that each foundation peg is within tolerance for plan, level and alignment. 3. A red-lined copy of the as-built drawing showing final set-out coordinates. Acceptance criteria • Horizontal deviation ≤ ±5 mm and vertical deviation ≤ ±3 mm against the issued coordinates. • Alignment error across the three foundations not to exceed 1:5 000. Preferred equipment: modern total station with reflectorless capability; GNSS rover welcomed for control transfer but not mandatory. Work can start as soon as you confirm availability and provide calibration certificates for your instruments.
