The role

As a Senior Product Engineer II you will be the senior technical contributor for your team, partnering with the Engineering Manager to set technical direction and ensure delivery excellence. You will balance hands-on contribution with technical leadership, serving as the go-to person for technical decisions and architecture within your team's domain. You are increasingly outward-facing, representing your team's technical work beyond its boundaries. What you’ll be doing in the role Define Technical Direction: Partner with the EM to shape the team’s technical roadmap, strategy, and architectural direction. Drive Engineering Excellence: Own code quality, testing, reliability, performance, and engineering standards across the team. Lead Technical Discovery: Guide technical planning, discovery, solution design, and decision-making, balancing short- and long-term needs. Collaborate and Influence: Facilitate cross-team technical collaboration, contribute to engineering-wide initiatives, and act as a technical liaison. Grow the Team: Actively mentor and develop engineers at any level, within and beyond the team.

What you'll bring

to this role Technical Leadership: Proven experience leading technical direction, making architectural decisions, and solving complex engineering problems. Engineering Expertise: Deep expertise in software engineering, architecture, testing, reliability, performance, and maintainable system design. Product Mindset: Ability to connect technical decisions to customer and business outcomes while balancing delivery with long-term technical health. Influence and Communication: Strong communication skills with the ability to build consensus, influence across teams, and explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Mentoring and Collaboration: A strong track record of developing engineers, working effectively with EMs and wider engineering communities, and contributing to a culture of learning and excellence. Key Technologies. We ask for expertise in some, and the willingness to learn where required Cloud Platforms : AWS and GCP Programming Languages : Python, JavaScript, and TypeScript Frameworks : Vue.js, Django Rest Framework, Container-based and Serverless architectures Databases : MongoDB and DynamoDB DevOps and Monitoring: CircleCI, GitHub Actions, Kubernetes, Celery, EventBridge and DataDog
