Motorcycle Automatic Transmission Design

I am developing a new automatic gearbox specifically for a motorcycle platform and need a complete concept-to-prototype package. The priorities are clear: the unit must squeeze every kilometre out of a litre of fuel while still delivering snappy, high-performance shifts that suit spirited riding. Scope of work I already have the engine characteristics and mounting envelope; what I need from you is the full transmission architecture: gear train selection, clutch strategy, shift logic and lubrication layout. Packaging within typical motorcycle width constraints is essential, and the final design should accommodate standard production materials and processes so that moving to tooling is straightforward. Key technical expectations • Optimised gear ratios and control strategy that balance fuel efficiency with quick acceleration • Calculated torque capacity well above peak engine output to ensure long-term reliability • 3D CAD model (SolidWorks or comparable) with fully defined parts and assemblies • Finite element or equivalent stress analysis on critical rotating components • Detailed manufacturing drawings with tolerances, surface finishes and heat-treatment notes • Bill of materials and estimated mass for the complete unit • A brief report explaining design decisions, efficiency projections and service considerations Acceptance criteria The design must demonstrate at least a 5 % reduction in parasitic losses versus a typical wet-clutch CVT and deliver shift times under 200 ms in simulated duty cycles. All files should be handed over in native CAD format plus neutral formats (STEP, IGES) and compiled into a single package ready for review.
