Android/Kotlin Developer - who leverages AI agents - APP polish - 200usd

Shuffler (shuffler.tv) is a collaborative music video android app where users record short video clips that merge into complete user-generated music videos. Its a user generated music video app. We are seeking an autonomous, forward-thinking Android/Kotlin engineer who leverages AI agents (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) to write clean code, audit existing infrastructure, and rapidly modernize/optimize the user experience (UI/UX). You will take full ownership of the Android client, working alongside our backend engineer. Key Responsibilities: • Server Migration & App Review: Following a recent server crash, we have successfully set up and migrated to a brand new server. You will perform a thorough review and audit of the Android app client to verify API endpoints, data synchronization, network error handling, and overall communication stability with the new backend infrastructure. • Play Store Release & Compatibility: Fix compatibility issues, update target SDK levels to conform with current Google Play requirements, and prepare the latest app version for seamless publishing to the Google Play Store. • AI-Assisted UI/UX Modernization: Use AI developer workflows to audit existing screens, streamline video workflow components (recording, preview, timeline assembly), and optimize UI responsiveness using Jetpack Compose/modern Android patterns. • AI Overlay Effects: Architect and implement client-side AI overlay video effects (real-time visual filters, style transfers, or dynamic segmentation) during or post-recording. • AI Seed Video Generation: Integrate client media handling for AI-generated seed video clips (orchestrated with our backend) to populate new tracks and ensure immediate user engagement. We need a starting content before real people start to dance. • Cut Tool Optimization: Refine, polish, and optimize our built-in song cutter tool so our cutter tool operate smoothly. Required Qualifications: • 4+ years of hands-on Android native development using modern Kotlin. • Extensive experience using AI coding assistants to speed up refactoring, UI redesigns, and testing. • Strong background in Android media frameworks: CameraX, ExoPlayer / Media3, and audio processing/trimming libraries. • Proven track record of managing full Play Store submission cycles, Play Console compliance, and target SDK upgrades. • Strong UI/UX focus with performance optimization skills for real-time video playback and editing workflows.
