Realistic Action Comic Cover Design

I’m gearing up to launch a new issue and need a cover that instantly hooks readers even at thumbnail size. The vibe: full-on action, but rendered in a realistic style where the lead’s expression tells the whole story. I’ll supply the plot synopsis, character sheets, and logo files as soon as we start. Here’s how I picture the workflow: • First, you provide a loose black-and-white sketch so we can lock the composition, character pose, and clear title space. • Next, a colour rough that nails palette, lighting, and makes sure the expression reads when the image is shrunk down. • Finally, a high-resolution, print-ready file (with bleed, CMYK, 300 dpi) that leaves room for publisher logos, issue number, and credits. You can work in Photoshop, Clip Studio Paint, Procreate—whatever is comfortable—as long as the final export meets standard print specs and still looks crisp online. If you can layer the file sensibly (line art, flats, effects, type guides) that will help with any last-minute adjustments on my end. Strong character expressions are the priority, but if you can hint at motion or background without crowding the layout, that’s a plus.
