Staff, Founders' Associate

London, UK · In person · Full-time £45,000–£110,000 annual base salary Cypress Cypress builds AI agents for small business owners, starting with independent coffee shops. We're building a system that understands how a business runs and helps its owner act. The ambition is to make independent ownership more viable. We're looking for someone early in their career who wants to help build a company and can make progress on a problem before anyone has worked out exactly how to solve it.

The role

You'll work closely with the founders on projects that need someone to take responsibility. You might investigate a new market, find a way to reach a difficult group of customers, or work out how to make a recurring task take half as long. You'll decide where to start, test your approach, and explain what you learned. You'll also help the company run: arrange a meeting, chase a missing document, make sure a new colleague has what they need, and water the plants. We want someone who cares whether the work gets done, including the small things other people depend on.

What you'll do

Take an open-ended problem and turn it into a concrete next step, then keep going until there's a useful result or a clear reason to change course. Research unfamiliar subjects, check the evidence, and write concise recommendations. Use AI tools to investigate questions, build working prototypes, and improve how we work. Check their output and take responsibility for the result. Help with customer research, recruiting coordination, and the practical work of running the office. Keep track of commitments, follow up, and tell people early when something is stuck.

What you'll bring

You learn quickly and can show us something you made happen. It could be a project, an event, a small business, a piece of research, or a problem you took responsibility for at work. You write clearly, ask good questions, and are comfortable with numbers. You know when to try something yourself and when to ask for help. You can handle sensitive information with discretion and follow through on work after the interesting part is over.
