# QA Engineer / Product Tester Needed for Interior Design & Cabinet Software (2D + 3D + Rendering) We are developing an **interior design and cabinet planning software** that allows users to create a measured room in **2D**, automatically/semantically work with the room in **3D**, place furniture/cabinets/models, create interior designs, generate renders for customer approval, calculate pricing/costs, and eventually generate **engineering/manufacturing outputs**. We are looking for an experienced **QA Engineer / Software Tester** who can deeply test the application from both a **functional and real-world interior-design workflow perspective**. This is not a simple website testing project. We need someone who can think like both a **QA engineer and an end user/designer**. ## What the software will cover The product is expected to support workflows such as: * Create and edit rooms in 2D * Draw walls and define room dimensions * Add doors, windows and openings * Modify wall geometry * Add cabinets and furniture * Create cabinet runs * Handle fillers, corners and spacing * Convert/view the design in 3D * Place 3D models and interior elements * Apply materials, finishes and textures * Design kitchens, wardrobes and other interiors * Add lighting * Generate realistic renders * Prepare designs for customer approval * Calculate project/cabinet/material costs * Generate quotations/proposals * Generate engineering/manufacturing information * Export project information and drawings The product is still under active development, so the QA engineer will also help us identify **missing workflows, edge cases and usability problems**. ## What we need you to test ### 1. 2D Room/CAD Functionality Test things such as: * Room creation * Wall creation/editing * Wall split/join * Wall dimensions * Snapping * Grid behaviour * Doors and windows * Openings * Wall intersections * Irregular/complex rooms * Undo/redo * Copy/paste * Object movement and resizing * Units and measurements * Precision issues * Boundary conditions * Very small/large rooms We want to find cases where the geometry becomes invalid or the application behaves unexpectedly. ### 2. 2D → 3D Consistency This is a critical part of the project. For example: **If a user changes a wall in 2D, does the 3D model correctly update?** Test: * Wall dimensions * Room height * Openings * Door/window positions * Cabinet positions * Furniture positions * Materials * Ceiling/floor * Design changes * Object deletion * Object duplication We need to identify any mismatch between the 2D representation and the 3D representation. ### 3. Cabinet & Interior Design Test realistic design workflows such as: * Base cabinets * Wall cabinets * Tall units * Corner cabinets * Fillers * Panels * Countertops * Wardrobes * Shelving * Furniture * Appliances * Multiple cabinet runs * Different cabinet dimensions * Cabinet collisions * Invalid configurations * Snapping/alignment Please test both normal and intentionally incorrect configurations. ### 4. 3D Models Test: * Model placement * Rotation * Scaling * Alignment * Snapping * Collision/intersection * Materials * Textures * Model visibility * Large numbers of models * Performance with complex scenes ### 5. Rendering Test the rendering workflow including: * Camera positioning * Lighting * Materials * Shadows * Reflections * Interior lighting * Different room configurations * Render quality * Render failures * Large/complex projects * Rendering performance * Exported render quality ### 6. Pricing / Cost Calculation Pricing is a critical business workflow. Test: * Cabinet pricing * Material pricing * Hardware * Panels * Accessories * Labour * Installation * Quantity calculations * Discounts * Taxes * Different price configurations * Changes to dimensions affecting price * Changes to materials affecting price * Changes to quantity affecting price Most importantly, verify that: **Design → Quantity → Cost → Quote** remains consistent. ### 7. Engineering / Manufacturing Output As the product evolves, test engineering outputs such as: * Dimensions * Cabinet/component quantities * Cut dimensions * Panels * Hardware * Material information * Drawings * BOM * Manufacturing information * Exported files The QA engineer should specifically look for discrepancies between the **visual design and engineering data**. ### 8. End-to-End Workflow Testing We want real-world scenarios tested from beginning to end. Example: **New Project → Measure Room → Create 2D Room → Add Doors/Windows → Add Cabinets → Generate 3D → Apply Materials → Add Lighting → Render → Customer Approval → Pricing → Engineering Output** The QA engineer should verify that information remains consistent throughout the entire workflow. ## Types of Testing Required We expect a combination of: * Functional testing * Regression testing * Exploratory testing * Integration testing * End-to-end testing * UI/UX testing * Cross-browser testing * Performance testing * Edge-case testing * Data consistency testing * 2D/3D synchronization testing * Calculation validation * Export/import testing Automation experience is a strong advantage. ## Bug Reporting Every bug should contain: * Clear title * Severity * Priority * Steps to reproduce * Expected result * Actual result * Screenshots/video where useful * Browser/OS * Project/design used to reproduce it We prefer **high-quality reproducible bug reports**, not simply a list of observations. ## Ideal Candidate You should have experience with: * Web application QA * Complex SaaS/product testing * Manual testing * Regression testing * End-to-end testing * Browser testing * Bug tracking Strongly preferred: * CAD software testing * Interior design software * 2D/3D applications * Architecture/design software * Cabinet design software * Manufacturing/engineering software * 3D visualization/rendering applications Experience with tools such as **Cabinet Vision, SketchUp, AutoCAD, Planner 5D, Floorplanner, Homestyler, 2020 Design, or similar software** wou
