Android Nearby Classifieds App

I’m rolling out a brand-new Android application that lets people quickly post or browse local classifieds for products, services and freelance talent. Think of it as a pocket marketplace where users can find or offer anything nearby— from second-hand gadgets to a plumber or graphic designer down the street— all in a few taps. Here’s what I need built: • A clean Android app coded in Kotlin or Java that runs smoothly on current Android OS versions. • Sign-up/login with email, mobile or social accounts so every ad is tied to a verified user. • Easy ad creation: title, description, price, photos/video and a category picker that supports products, services and “Hire a Freelancer.” • Location awareness so the feed automatically shows listings closest to the user, with distance filters and a map view. • Powerful search and category browsing, plus simple favourites/saved ads. • Basic in-app chat so buyers and sellers can negotiate without leaving the app. • A lightweight admin panel (web or in-app) for moderating listings and handling user reports. Deliverables 1. Full Android source code and build instructions. 2. Database schema and API endpoints (Firebase, Supabase or your recommended stack). 3. One-page admin panel with core moderation tools. 4. Brief hand-off documentation so my team can publish to Google Play. Acceptance Criteria • App installs and opens without crashes on Android 10+. • A new user can sign up, post an ad with images and have it appear in the nearby feed immediately. • Search by keyword and category returns relevant, correctly sorted results. • Messages reach the recipient in under five seconds on a stable connection. I’m open to design suggestions and future upgrades (iOS version, premium ad boosts, payment integration) once the MVP is live.
