Custom Illustrated & Animated Wedding Save the Date – Bucharest We are looking for a talented illustrator and animator to create a fully custom animated Save the Date for our wedding in Bucharest, Romania. The animation should be approximately 30 seconds long, with 40–45 seconds being the absolute maximum. This should NOT be a template-based wedding invitation. We want a beautiful, elegant, hand-illustrated animation that tells a short story about us and only at the end reveals that it is our Save the Date. STYLE We are looking for an elegant hand-drawn / watercolor / editorial illustration style with smooth animation and creative transitions between scenes. The overall feeling should be European summer, slightly French/Italian, romantic but sophisticated. We do not want a Disney/cartoon style or typical wedding graphics with flying hearts, roses, etc. We will provide a reference video showing the general quality, pacing and animation style we like. The final artwork must of course be original – the reference is only for inspiration. It is very important that the illustrated characters actually resemble us. We will provide several reference photos of both of us. STORY Scene 1 – The Proposal (approx. 0–5 sec.) The animation opens with a beautiful mountain landscape. We see the two of us standing at the top of the mountain where I proposed to my fiancée. The camera moves closer and shows me going down on one knee and proposing. We can provide photos of the actual mountain/location as reference. The scene should feel cinematic and elegant rather than overly romantic. Scene 2 – Transition to Bucharest (approx. 5–8 sec.) We move closer to my fiancée's hand/ring. The ring catches the sunlight and the glow fills the screen. This then transitions into the sun/sky above Bucharest. We reveal recognizable Bucharest architecture, for example the Romanian Athenaeum / Calea Victoriei area. A subtle “BUCHAREST, ROMANIA” could appear here. Scene 3 – Us in Bucharest (approx. 8–14 sec.) We see the two of us walking together through an elegant Bucharest street. The surroundings should clearly feel like Bucharest rather than a generic European city. A yellow Dacia Logan taxi drives through the foreground. This is an important little Bucharest detail. The taxi could also be used as a transition. As it passes directly in front of the camera and fills the screen, the next scene is revealed behind it. Scene 4 – Drinks in Bucharest (approx. 14–20 sec.) The taxi passes and reveals us sitting together at an elegant outdoor café/terrace. There are cocktails or champagne on the table. We pick up our glasses and toast. Clink. We would love a creative transition from the drinks into the next scene. For example, the champagne bubbles, reflection or liquid could transform into the water of Snagov Lake. Scene 5 – Snagov / Wedding Location (approx. 20–25 sec.) The drink transitions into water. The camera moves across Snagov Lake and reveals Palatul Snagov / Snagov Palace, where our wedding will take place. We can provide reference photos of the palace and terrace. There could be a very short glimpse of the wedding atmosphere: an elegant outdoor table, candles, flowers, champagne and our custom monogram/symbol. Our wedding aesthetic will use warm cream/beige with burgundy details and an elegant European/French-inspired style. Scene 6 – Save the Date Reveal (approx. 25–30 sec.) We would like the final transition to reveal our wedding monogram. For example, the camera could move toward our monogram embroidered or printed on a napkin, menu or plate on the wedding table. The monogram then becomes the final invitation screen. Final text: MILLE & NICOLAE SAVE THE DATE 31 · 07 · 2027 BUCHAREST, ROMANIA We are open to creative suggestions for making the final reveal even better. IMPORTANT The storyboard above explains our idea, but we also want you to bring your own creativity to the project. If you can think of better transitions, camera movements or ways to tell the same story within approximately 30 seconds, we would love to hear your ideas. The most important elements are: The proposal on the mountain The illustrated characters should clearly resemble us Bucharest must be recognizable Yellow Dacia taxi Drinks / champagne Snagov Lake Palatul Snagov Our wedding monogram Final Save the Date reveal The animation should feel like one continuous short film, not separate animated slides. Transitions between scenes are therefore very important. DELIVERABLES Final animation approximately 30 seconds. Primary format should be vertical 9:16, suitable for sending digitally and viewing on mobile / Instagram. High-resolution final video. Music/sound design should be included or discussed. Small sound details such as the champagne glass “clink” could be nice. We would also like the project/source files if possible. WHEN SUBMITTING YOUR BID Please include examples of previous illustration and animation work, especially anything involving custom characters or portrait illustration. Please also let us know your estimated price for the complete project, estimated delivery time, number of revisions included, and whether illustration, animation and sound/music are all included in your price. Please do not apply with generic wedding invitation templates. We are specifically looking for someone capable of creating original illustrations and a fully custom animation from scratch.
