Microsoft 365 Copilot / AI Architecture Knowledge Repository Overview I am looking for an experienced Microsoft 365 Copilot / Microsoft Copilot / Azure AI developer or architect to help design and implement an AI-powered Architecture & Enterprise Knowledge Repository. The objective is to create a centralised knowledge solution where I can ask natural-language questions about our technology, architecture, systems, projects, designs and documentation, and have the AI retrieve and analyse information from multiple approved data sources. For example, I would like to be able to ask questions such as: "What is the current architecture for this system?" "What integrations does this platform have?" "What are the key risks associated with this architecture?" "Based on our existing architecture documents, what would you recommend for this new requirement?" "Compare the current and proposed architectures." "Find all documents relating to this application." "Create a High-Level Design document based on the existing architecture and requirements." "Identify gaps or inconsistencies across our architecture documentation." "What dependencies does this solution have on other systems?" "Create an architecture decision record based on the information available in the repository." The solution should be capable of searching across multiple documents and information sources, synthesising the information, and producing useful answers or documents rather than simply returning search results. Potential Data Sources I would like the solution to support, where technically and securely possible, multiple information sources such as: Microsoft SharePoint sites SharePoint document libraries OneDrive Microsoft Teams / Microsoft 365 content where appropriate Local document repositories/files GitHub repositories Architecture Repository Use Case A key part of this project is using the solution as an Architecture Knowledge Repository / Architecture Assistant. I would like the AI to understand and make connections across different types of architecture information, including: Business requirements Functional and non-functional requirements Solution architectures High-Level Designs Low-Level Designs Architecture diagrams Desired Capabilities The final solution should ideally provide capabilities such as: 1. Natural-language Q&A I should be able to ask questions in normal language and receive answers based on the approved knowledge sources. 2. Cross-document analysis The system should be able to retrieve information from multiple documents/sources and synthesise the information into a coherent answer. 3. Architecture analysis For example: "Review the existing architecture for System X and identify potential integration, security, scalability and resilience issues." 4. Recommendations Where appropriate, the system should be able to propose potential architectural options based on the information available, clearly distinguishing between information found in the repository and AI-generated recommendations. 5. Document generation The system should be capable of generating documents such as: High-Level Design documents Architecture Decision Records Technical proposals 6. Source traceability A very important requirement is that answers should identify where the information came from, ideally providing links/references back to the underlying SharePoint, Confluence, GitHub or other source documents. 7. Security and permissions The solution must respect the permissions of the underlying repositories and avoid exposing information to users who are not authorised to access it. 8. Knowledge management I would also like advice on how the repository should be structured and governed so that the AI can provide reliable answers as the volume of documentation grows. The goal is to create an AI-powered enterprise architecture knowledge and reasoning assistant that can securely access approved organisational knowledge, reason across multiple sources, answer architecture questions with traceability, and assist with creating professional architecture documentation.
