About the job

I need a solid, custom-shaped metal enclosure that will house a printed circuit board and several panel-mounted connectors. Mechanical support is the top priority, so the walls, standoffs, and mounting features must keep the board rigid under vibration while giving technicians easy access to the connectors from the outside. You will start from a dimensional sketch of the PCB and its connector layout (I will supply STEP and Gerber files). From there, please create a 3D CAD model of the enclosure, include all internal bosses, threaded inserts, and gasket grooves, then prepare manufacturing drawings with tolerances suitable for CNC-milled aluminum or folded sheet steel—whichever you feel best meets strength and cost targets. Deliverables: • Native CAD file (SolidWorks or Fusion 360) plus STEP for hand-off • 2D fabrication drawings with callouts and finish notes • Exploded assembly view showing PCB and fasteners • Short BOM listing hardware and suggested materials I will review the model for fit against the board, connector clearances, and overall robustness. A design passes when the PCB can be secured with four M3 screws, connectors align with the front plate, and the enclosure halves mate without interference.
