About the job

I already have a fully-verified KiCad schematic for a small industrial power supply and now need the actual board laid out. The goal is to squeeze the design into the smallest practical footprint without compromising functionality, so every millimetre saved counts. All parts must sit on the top layer only; the underside has to stay completely flat for mechanical clearance and easy heat sinking against a metal chassis. Because of that mechanical requirement, I want to stick with standard through-hole vias rather than blind, buried, or micro solutions. Here’s what I would like you to handle: • Precise component placement that respects the single-sided assembly constraint. • Clean, compact routing that keeps the overall dimensions as tight as possible while meeting manufacturer design rules. • Full DRC/ERC cleanup inside KiCad to eliminate warnings and errors. • Generation of production-ready files: Gerbers, drill data, pick-and-place/centroid, and a finished KiCad project folder ready for hand-off to my assembler. If you see any opportunities to shave additional board area or improve manufacturability while staying within these constraints, I’m open to recommendations. Once handed over, I should be able to upload the Gerbers directly to JLCPCB (or a similar fab) without edits and see a clean pass. Let me know your expected turnaround time and any questions you need answered before you start the layout.
