I maintain a series of Infineon Tricore 29X-based embedded devices, yet the original firmware documentation is long gone. To keep our product line evolving I must first confirm that you can take an unfamiliar Tricore image apart, understand its structure, and adjust it cleanly so new features can be slotted in. Here’s how we will proceed: after you share a brief outline of your prior embedded reverse-engineering work, I’ll send over a small, self-contained Tricore binary. Your task will be to locate a targeted routine, identify the data structures it touches, and return a patched image that demonstrates a functional change (full instructions arrive with the test file). If your patch runs as expected on my side, we can move straight into the larger projects that involve broader architectural modifications and feature additions. Acceptance criteria for the test • Commented disassembly (IDA, Ghidra, —your choice) • A short write-up explaining how you located the routine and why your change is safe for production firmware • Patched binary ready to flash on a TriBoard or equivalent evaluation board You will be working exclusively with embedded systems firmware; no desktop or mobile binaries are involved, so familiarity with Tricore instruction-set quirks, watchdog handling, and MMU configuration will be key. If that sounds routine for you, message me your experience and let’s get started.
