Senior Nutraceutical Product Developer / Formulation Specialist — UK Premium Supplement Line Project Overview: We are launching xxxx FUEL, a premium sports nutrition and wellness brand positioned at the intersection of high-performance athletics and modern luxury. We are looking for an experienced Food Scientist / Nutraceutical Formulator to guide us through product development, supplier sourcing, and regulatory compliance for our initial product launch. Key Responsibilities: Formulation & Recipe Development: Create commercially scalable base recipes for our Hero lineup: Protein Powder (Whey Isolate/Plant), Marine Collagen, and functional Pectin Gummies (e.g., Hydration/Daily Essentials). Organoleptic & Flavor Masking: Work with manufacturing partners to achieve superior mouthfeel and natural flavor profiles (avoiding overly sweet, synthetic tastes). UK/GB Regulatory Guidance: Ensure all active ingredient dosages align with the Great Britain Nutrition and Health Claims Register (GB NHCR) and ASA marketing guidelines. Contract Manufacturer (CMO) Selection: Recommend and introduce vetted UK/EU manufacturing partners capable of low-to-medium MOQs (500–1,000 units/SKU). Stability & Packaging Advice: Advise on ingredient stability, shelf-life considerations, and container compatibility (amber glass, PCR jars, pouches). Required Qualifications: Degree in Food Science, Nutritional Biochemistry, Pharmaceutics, or a related field. Proven track record of launching commercial food supplements, powders, or gummies in the UK/EU market. Deep understanding of GB FIC labeling laws and authorized health claim conditions. Strong network of certified UK contract manufacturers (ISO 22000 / BRCGS). Deliverables: Initial Formulation Briefs & Master Ingredient List for 3 SKUs. Direct introduction to 2–3 vetted UK CMOs. Review of benchtop sample iterations for flavor and texture. Final Regulatory Check & Claims Matrix (Approved vs. Restricted claims for marketing).
