PHONE OWNERSHIP VERIFICATION PLATFORM 1. Project Overview I want to build a secure web platform that allows phone owners to register their mobile devices and allows potential buyers to verify the ownership and status of a phone before purchasing it. The main purpose of the platform is to reduce phone theft, fraud, fake ownership claims, and the resale of phones that are lost, stolen, financed, or involved in ownership disputes. The platform should work primarily with the phone's IMEI number, registration ID, and a unique QR code. The concept is: Register Phone → Verify Ownership → Sell Phone → Transfer Ownership → New Owner Verifies Ownership --- 2. Homepage The homepage should have a professional, modern and trustworthy appearance. Main headline: VERIFY BEFORE YOU BUY Subheadline: Check the ownership and status of a mobile phone before making payment. The homepage should have a prominent IMEI verification box: Enter IMEI Number [ IMEI NUMBER ] VERIFY PHONE There should also be an option: SCAN QR CODE Navigation menu: - Home - Verify Phone - Register Phone - Transfer Ownership - Report Lost/Stolen - Business - Login --- 3. Phone Verification A user should be able to enter an IMEI number or scan a QR code attached to a registered phone. The system should check the database and display the phone's verification status. Example: PHONE VERIFIED - Brand - Model - Storage - Colour - IMEI status - Registration status - Ownership verification status - Lost/stolen status - Financing restriction status - Registration date The platform must not publicly expose the owner's complete personal information. Instead, display masked information such as: Registered Owner: John A****** Phone: 080****5678 --- 4. Seller Verification The buyer should be able to verify whether the person selling the phone is actually the registered owner. The seller should authenticate using: - Registered phone number - OTP - Verification ID or other approved authentication method The system should compare the seller's information with the registered ownership record. Possible results: GREEN — OWNER VERIFIED "The seller has been successfully verified as the registered owner." RED — OWNER NOT VERIFIED "The seller could not be verified as the registered owner." --- 5. Phone Registration Phone owners should be able to create an account and register their phones. Registration information should include: Device Information - Brand - Model - IMEI 1 - IMEI 2 - Serial number - Storage - Colour - Purchase date Owner Information - Full name - Phone number - Email - Address - Government-issued identification - Proof of purchase/receipt The system should verify the information before activating the ownership record. --- 6. Digital Ownership Certificate After successful registration, the system should generate a digital ownership certificate. The certificate should contain: - Owner's masked name - Device brand/model - IMEI - Registration ID - Registration date - Current ownership status - Unique QR code The QR code should allow another person to verify the device without exposing sensitive personal information. --- 7. QR Code System Every successfully registered phone should receive a unique QR code. When a buyer scans the QR code, they should be taken to a verification page showing the phone's current status. The QR code should contain a secure random verification token rather than directly exposing personal information. --- 8. Ownership Transfer The platform must allow a registered owner to transfer ownership when selling the phone. Process: Current Owner ↓ Selects Transfer Ownership ↓ Enters buyer's information ↓ Buyer receives OTP/verification request ↓ Both parties confirm ↓ System transfers ownership ↓ New owner becomes the registered owner The system should maintain an internal ownership history. Example: 2026 — Owner A registered device 2026 — Ownership transferred to Owner B The public should only see limited/masked information from previous ownership records. --- 9. Lost or Stolen Phone Reporting There should be a section: REPORT LOST/STOLEN PHONE The registered owner can report a device as lost or stolen. Once approved, the device status changes to: LOST/STOLEN If another person attempts to verify the phone, the website should display a prominent warning: WARNING: THIS DEVICE HAS BEEN REPORTED LOST/STOLEN. The system should also provide an appropriate process for resolving false reports or ownership disputes. --- 10. Financing Status The system should support phones purchased through financing companies. Possible statuses: FINANCING ACTIVE The device has an outstanding financing obligation. FINANCING CLEARED The financing obligation has been completed. Where appropriate, a financing restriction can prevent ownership transfer until the financing company releases the device. The public verification page should not reveal sensitive financial information. --- 11. Phone Status Categories The platform should have clear status indicators: GREEN — VERIFIED Phone is registered and ownership has been verified. YELLOW — CAUTION Additional verification is required. ORANGE — FINANCING ACTIVE The phone has an active financing restriction. RED — LOST/STOLEN The phone has been reported lost or stolen. BLACK — BLOCKED Device is restricted because of an approved dispute, fraud investigation, or other administrative reason. GREY — NOT REGISTERED No ownership record exists on the platform. --- 12. Admin Dashboard The website must have a secure administrator dashboard. Admin should be able to: - View registered phones - Search by IMEI - Search registration ID - Verify owner information - Review identity documents - Approve/reject registrations - Approve ownership transfers - Freeze devices - Unfreeze devices - Review lost/stolen reports - Review disputes - Manage financing companies - Manage dealers - Manage business accounts - View verification activity - View ownership-transfer history - View audit logs Dashboard statistics should include: - Total r
