About the job

I’m finalising a planning submission for a new residential scheme in Sutton, Surrey, and need a professional daylight-and-sunlight assessment that satisfies my local council’s requirements. The study must look at two things in particular: first, how the proposal affects light levels to the neighbouring homes, and second, the quality of natural light my future residents will enjoy inside the development itself. You’ll work from my CAD drawings, sections and site photos to model existing and proposed conditions, run the calculations, and interpret the results against the council’s published criteria. While BRE guidance can inform your methodology, the final report must be structured around the wording and numerical targets set out by the council so that the planning officer can lift figures straight from your document. Please include: • A concise methodology summary (software used, grid/point spacing, sky model). • Numerical results and colour contour images for all affected windows and rooms. • Clear pass/fail commentary for both neighbour impact and internal daylight factors. • A single, planning-ready PDF plus the editable source file of the tables and diagrams. Let me know your expected turnaround once you receive the drawings and whether you’ll need any additional site data or shadow photographs. I’m ready to appoint as soon as I find someone who can demonstrate recent residential daylight work for UK councils.
