We are seeking an experienced System Engineer (m/f/d) for a development project involving unmanned aerial vehicles. This role is for a Munich-based startup, and the candidate must be a European citizen, ideally already located in Germany/Munich. The project focuses on developing a wireless communication system to support video and data transmission in challenging environments. Key Responsibilities: • Define the system, hardware, and software architecture for the FHSS communication system. • Develop and evaluate approaches to frequency hopping, MIMO, and interference mitigation across RF and embedded subsystems. • Support the integration of Qualcomm Wi-Fi modules and STM32-based controllers with RF front ends and software-defined radio (SDR) platforms. • Collaborate with hardware and software teams on PHY/MAC design, adaptive link control, and system interfaces. • Define the RF verification strategy and participate in system integration, characterization, and validation in laboratory and field environments. • Analyze system performance, document results, and recommend improvements for subsequent development stages.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in systems engineering for wireless communication systems, including FHSS. • Strong knowledge of RF systems, embedded controllers, and hardware-software interaction. • Proven experience with system architecture, integration, verification, and performance analysis. • Familiarity with Qualcomm wireless modules, STM32 controllers or SDR platforms Additional Information: - Candidates must be willing to work onsite at our client's location in Munich.
