About the job

I am midway through building a 4,000 sq ft single-family home in California. Excavation and foundation work are already in progress, but my original architect has had to step away for health reasons. The overall design is set; what I now need is someone to step in, review the existing files, bring any lagging details up to date, and then provide small, bi-weekly plan adjustments as construction moves forward. Here is the scope in practical terms: • Catch-up phase: verify and, where necessary, refine the current floor plans, elevations, and sections so they accurately reflect on-site conditions and California Building Code requirements. • Ongoing phase: every couple of weeks, respond to field-requested tweaks (minor dimension shifts, window swaps, detail clarifications, etc.) and issue fresh PDFs that my builder can print and submit. All final updates must be delivered as clean, well-layered PDFs; if you work in AutoCAD or Revit behind the scenes that’s fine, but the hand-off format for me and the contractor is PDF. You must already know the California code environment—energy, seismic, accessibility, title-24 references—because I don’t have time to re-explain local standards. Ability to coordinate quickly by email or a short video call when questions pop up will be key, yet the workload should remain light once the drawings are synced. If you are comfortable taking over a mostly completed set and shepherding it through construction with punctual, code-literate tweaks, I’d like to hear from you.
