The Position We are looking for a hands-on person to support the operation, maintenance, and optimization of our small-scale extrusion equipment for biomass conversion. You will work directly with our engineers and scientists to prepare experiments, operate the extruder, modify equipment, and ensure that our experimental processes run safely and reliably. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical technical work, solving mechanical problems, and experimenting with new technologies. Your responsibilities Equipment operation: Set up, operate, monitor, and maintain a laboratory- or pilot-scale extruder for biomass processing. Experimental support: Prepare biomass feedstocks, conduct extrusion trials, collect samples, and document results. Equipment assembly and modification: Assemble, adjust, and improve mechanical components, feeding systems, screw configurations, and other process equipment. Maintenance and troubleshooting: Identify and resolve mechanical and operational problems, perform routine maintenance, and minimize equipment downtime. Process monitoring: Monitor operating parameters such as temperature, pressure, screw speed, feed rate, and material flow. Workshop activities: Support the construction of prototypes, installation of sensors, and modification of experimental equipment. Documentation: Record operating parameters, maintenance activities, and experimental observations. Safety and organization: Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized technical workspace.

What you bring

Professional background as an extrusion technician, process technician, chemical engineer, or a comparable qualification Practical experience in extrusion technology and process engineering, ideally within the chemical or environmental sector Strong analytical skills and a hands-on approach to problem-solving Hands-on mentality, attention to detail, and an independent, solution-oriented working style Willingness to work with different biomass materials and conduct experimental trials Good communication skills in English What We Offer Work on an innovative technology with the potential to improve soil health and contribute to climate protection.
