Extract PDF Text to Excel

I need the plain text contained in a set of PDF files pulled out accurately and delivered back to me in an editable Excel (.xlsx) workbook. Images, graphics and any other non-text elements can be ignored completely—the job is strictly text-only extraction. Accuracy comes first: the captured text must match the source PDFs character-for-character, including punctuation and line breaks where relevant. Once the text is in Excel I can handle any further manipulation, so there is no special formatting requirement beyond making sure everything is cleanly readable in the spreadsheet. Please let me know the tools or scripts you prefer to use (Python, Adobe SDK, Able2Extract, etc.) and how quickly you can turn this around.
