Refactor & Optimize MERN Application

I have a live MERN stack product that is starting to feel sluggish and dated. I want to run a focused optimisation and refactor sprint that touches two areas only: the React-based frontend and the MongoDB layer. Frontend (React) • First priority is polishing the user experience and visual design so the interface feels modern, consistent and quick. • While doing that, hunt down and eliminate the recurrent bugs users keep reporting (occasional state glitches, unexpected reloads, minor layout breaks). Clean, reusable components and thoughtful state management are expected outcomes of this phase. Database (MongoDB) The data layer needs a performance tune-up: better indexing, more efficient queries, and, where appropriate, schema tweaks that reduce response times. I’m ready to supply current query logs and performance metrics so you can measure the before-and-after gains. Deliverables 1. Updated React code pushed to our Git repo with clear commit messages. 2. A UI/UX overhaul demonstrated in a short screen-recording walkthrough. 3. Fixed bug list with references to closed issues. 4. MongoDB optimisation report that documents index changes, query revisions and the performance improvement achieved (numbers, not anecdotes). Acceptance criteria – Core pages load <1 s on a cold browser cache over 4G. – No open bugs tagged “frontend-critical” in the tracker. – Database slow query log is empty under standard load tests. You will be working in a feature branch against our existing CI pipeline (Jest, ESLint, Prettier are in place). I’m available on Slack for quick feedback cycles and can deploy staging builds on demand.
