About the job

I need a concise engineering study that quantifies the difference between the chemical energy stored in a 100 kg pig and the external energy required to completely oxidise that mass under super-critical water conditions. The single objective is to understand the overall energy balance of the process; efficiency validation or broader process optimisation are outside this scope. All temperature-and-pressure readings taken during previous supercritical runs are available online and I will share the links the moment we start. If additional physical property data or equations of state are needed, point me toward the preferred sources and I will secure access. Your task is to translate those operating readings into a clear set of calculations that: • establish the enthalpy content (stored energy) of a representative 100 kg pig carcass, • determine the net energy input required to reach and maintain supercritical conditions until full oxidation is achieved, and • present the resulting energy differential in both absolute (kJ) and relative (%) terms. Please document all assumptions, thermodynamic correlations and reaction stoichiometry you employ, then deliver both the working model (spreadsheet or similar) and a brief report summarising methods, results and conclusions. I will validate the numbers against the raw data, so transparency in your calculations is essential. Our "proof of concept" testing with a small rodent resulted in only a slight increase in pressure, and no increase in temperature. Our only logical assumption is that the energy balance must be similar, if not we would have expected a temperature spike.
